Melanie Yost is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who obtained her Masters of Social Work from The Ohio State University in Columbus Ohio in 1991. Upon graduation she worked in a community mental health in-home program with seriously emotionally disturbed children/adolescents and their families. Melanie has been in private practice since 1995 and has worked successfully with children, adolescents and adults struggling with anxiety, depression and/or who are experiencing difficulties with interpersonal relationships, stage of life development or expression of the true nature of self. She specializes in working with people who are ready to move through the issues in which they feel "stuck" so they can use their energy in more positive and productive ways.
Melanie recently obtained her Certification in Clinical Aromatherapy and is currently pursuing her certification in Life Coaching through the Mentor Coach Training Program. Additionally, she has training in a wide variety of integrative healing modalities including guided imagery, clinical hypnosis, EMDR, Energy Psychology, Energy Medicine, Reiki, meditation, and natural health. Melanie combines a wealth of effective and creative tools to empower her clients to use their energy in positive and productive ways.
Melanie is a member of the National Association of Social Workers, EMDR International Association and the International Coaching Federation. She values education and seeks to educate her clients about the internal and external resources available to them.
Melanie has been practicing in the Fredericksburg community since 1991 and was formerly with Rappahannock Area Community Services Board and Center for Brief Counseling. Melanie is currently scheduling psychotherapy clients and Life Coaching clients.
